VIRTUAL: Parenting 6th - 12th Graders During a Pandemic

Calendar/Event Details

Featured Guest: Dr. Michael Thompson, Ph.D.

The COVID-19 pandemic has hit families hard. For the last several months, families have been forced to think about death and safety and to have conversations with their kids about those and other tough topics. They are dealing with the loss of regular school, remote learning from home, all the while facing threats to employment, and the loss of typical social supports. Many parents are worried that their children will emerge traumatized from this long disruption. In this talk, Dr. Thompson will address the issues and fears affecting families and will offer psychologically sound suggestions for steadying their children and themselves in this difficult time. Dr. Thompson is a psychologist, consultant, and author, specializing in children and families. We are proud to welcome him as a guest speaker this year!

This event is part of Charles Wright Academy's 2021 Parent Education Speaker Series. Links for these virtual events will be sent to those who register.
