Weather permitting, the Theodor Jacobsen Observatory on the UW campus is now open twice a month for the public to take a peek through the 110-year-old refracting telescope. There's a talk beforehand, but most topics are going to make your average elementary school kid's eyes roll back in her head (think "computer-assisted astronomy" and "cosmology").
This evening is different.
Bring 'em down at 7 p.m. Kiddos can make a star finder and learn how to pick out constellations -- lots of stuff going on for the age group whose exposure to astronomy is limited to "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star."
