The Humboldt penguins at the Woodland Park Zoo have long suffered the indignity of swimming in circles in a small, concrete habitat.
In summer of 2009, they'll be moving into new digs (17,000 square feet of naturalistic, environmentally friendly amazeorama), but in the meantime, they're being moved to other zoos while their exhibit in under construction.
So, all parents of kids who freak out at the sight of the Humboldts toying with a fish underwater: this is your last weekend to see 'em while your kids still care about penguins. The final live trout (yummy!) feeding is Friday, March 21, at 11 a.m.
(And send 'em some love: donate to the Pennies for Penguins campaign through April 30.)
