Eating ice cream to support a good cause? We're in.

For Women’s History Month, local ice cream destination Molly Moon’s will donate 10 percent of the proceeds from new seasonal flavors to Mary’s Place, a shelter serving women and families with children in King County.

Mary’s Place nominated four women from within the organization for Molly Moon’s to honor with special seasonal ice cream flavors. Buy a scoop or three of one of the four seasonal flavors to celebrate these inspiring individuals, and help Mary's Place serve women and children.

Orchid Vanilla

Molly Moon's Orchid Vanilla ice cream coneFlavored with vanilla bean and colored a pretty light purple with butterfly pea powder, this flavor was created to honor Rev. Dr. Jean Kim, the founder of Mary’s Place. Dr. Jean Kim has spent the past 50 years helping people who are experiencing homelessness. Mary’s Place started as the Church of Mary Magdalene, a non-denominational spiritual space for women who were unsheltered. Today, it operates as a safe and inclusive shelter for women and children.

The creation of the Orchid Vanilla flavor comes Rev. Dr Kim’s favorite flavor of vanilla and her love of light purple orchids.

Raspberry Oat Bar

Molly Moon's Raspberry Oat Bar ice cream coneShelter & Services Manager Tanita Horton leads the Mary’s Place Girl Scout Troop, the first shelter-based troop in the region. Tanita is passionate about ensuring all children have access to quality education and enrichment. She was a Girl Scout herself and works with Molly Moon’s every year to send the Mary’s Place troop to summer camp.

One of Horton’s favorite treats is a raspberry oat bar, so Molly Moon’s combined crumbly oat pieces with a raspberry jam swirl to create this sweet, summer-camp-esque flavor.

Vegan Candy Bar

Molly Moon's Vegan Candy Bar ice cream coneTayna Rinker is a former Mary’s Place guest. After being subjected to domestic violence, Rinker struggled with depression and drug addiction. She checked herself into treatment and now lives in her own home with her three children.

When Molly Moon’s asked Rinker about her favorite treat, she said candy bars! Molly Moon’s decided to blend chocolate-covered vegan toffees and a vegan caramel swirl into their Vegan Candy Bar flavor. A coconut base gives this treat a nutty candy flavor, while still being completely vegan and nut-free.

Milk Chocolate Toffee

Molly Moon's Milk Chocolate Toffee ice cream coneIntake Line Manager Sherry Tillman is the first point of contact for families seeking support from Mary’s Place. She helps families feel safe when asking for help. She loves to see the families transform from uncertain and scared to confident and empowered.

Her dream flavor includes chocolate, caramel and Almond Roca, so Molly Moon’s created the Milk Chocolate Toffee flavor in her honor. It blends salty toffee, Theo dark chocolate and creamy milk chocolate ice cream. Yum!

Support these incredible women and the families they help by ordering one of these delicious flavors on your next ice cream outing to Molly Moon’s.
