Bigelow House Museum Tours

Calendar/Event Details

The Olympia Historical Society and Bigelow House Museum (OHS&BHM) will re-open the historic Bigelow House Museum at 918 Glass Avenue NE in Olympia for regular escorted tours on the first and second Sunday of the month at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. beginning June 4, 2023.

All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.  Entrance fees are $5.00 per adult, $4.00 for seniors and students, $2.00 for children with a maximum of $15.00 per family.  There is no charge for OHS&BHM members.  The tours, which include stairs, are approximately 30 minutes and are limited to 10 people per tour.

After being closed for three years, the house has been re-imagined with a new tour and more of the restored upstairs open to the public.  The Bigelow House, built by 1860 by Daniel S. and Ann Elizabeth White Bigelow, Oregon Trail pioneers of 1851, is a fine example of the Carpenter Gothic style and is listed on the National, State, and Olympia Registers of Historic Places, as well as the National Votes for Women Trail.

The house features authentic furnishings and artifacts of the Bigelow family, who lived in the house for more than 140 years.  The decor emphasizes the Territorial Period of Washington.
