Washington State Parks Foundation and Friends of Lake Sammamish Park are partnering with Thomas’® Breads – makers of the iconic Thomas’ English Muffins known for their signature “Nooks & Crannies” texture – to make an impact and give back to the local community on National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 25th at 9 a.m.
An active supporter of environmental sustainability, Thomas’ is seeking 80 volunteers to tackle a trail cleanup project at Lake Sammamish State Park. Thomas’, the National Public Lands Sponsor for Lake Sammamish, will help kickoff the park’s new trail plans with a “Trail Stomp” volunteer service event. Help Thomas’ and Lake Sammamish give some love to the adventures of this special place and to the trails that have sustained the community during these critical times.
During this event, volunteers will be flattening reed canary grass to create a new trail, which will help make the trail system at the park more accessible to hikers, families, the elderly and wheelchairs as they discover the beauty of Lake Sammamish. Other activities will include a trash pick-up, weeding and park beautifications.
All volunteers who participate in the trail cleanup will be invited to gather after the event (12 p.m.) at The Rotunda for a complimentary meal to remember featuring Thomas’ favorites like English Muffins and Bagels. Participants will also receive a branded t-shirt commemorating the effort. Sign up now to save your spot!
