Pounce on a sun break or bring a towel to dry the slide: You know what to do. A new-to-you playground is free and sure to entertain — and hopefully tire out — your energetic crew.
- Seattle’s largest, most inclusive playground is worth a visit. There’s plenty of space to explore, with unique slides and climbing spots for endless fun.
- The bravest kids can climb a 36-foot tower at Melanie’s Park, and twist and turn on the slide down.
- Traverse the bamboo-like poles at Bridle Trails Valley Creek Park.
- Lincoln Park’s south playground in West Seattle reopened just last year, and it’s better than ever.
- Four of our region’s extra enormous parks offer so many different ways to explore: Frolic on the playground, wander the trails, visit the beach and more. In other words, stay and play all day.
- There are terrific accessible playgrounds around town for kids of all abilities.
- We’re still in the thick of the PNW “Big Dark” season with the sun setting around 5:30 p.m., but that doesn’t mean the fun has to end at sunset. Check out these amazing lighted playgrounds that keep you playing all night (or at least until bedtime).
