Foothills Trail: McMillin-to-Orting section

The 21-mile-long Foothills Trail occupies an old railroad bed and connects the cities of Puyallup and Buckley, snaking through other towns along the way. We especially like the 2.2-mile McMillin-to-Orting section, which is ideal for bicyclists of all ages, strollers, scooters and anything on wheels! Start off at the Orting's central town park at Calistoga Avenue W. and Washington Avenue S. Here you'll find restrooms, Orting's signature bell tower and room to run.

When you stop for a rest, be on the lookout for painted rocks as this area is rumored to be a painted rock hot spot! Head north to reach the McMillin Trailhead, 2.8 miles away, and turnaround there or at any mid-point you like. Get your lunch at one of Orting's many eateries nearby the park, or if you're lucky enough to show up on a Friday in summer, check out the Orting Valley Farmers Market.

Find it: Hop on the McMilin-to-Orting section of the trail at Calistoga Avenue W. and Washington Avenue S. in Orting.
