Paint in jars
A fun favor for kids who love art, these take-home finger paints can be easily mixed with sugar, salt, water, cornstarch and food coloring (or buy paint in bulk and pour). Pour paint into baby food jars and tie a paintbrush around the jar for each child.
Delight your little gardeners by giving them their own pot and seeds. Fill a tiny pot with planting soil and include a seed pack and simple instructions. For a fun party activity, have the guests paint their own terra cotta pot and plant and water the seeds.
Who doesn’t have some broken crayons around the house? Gather all your colorful waxy nubs. Fill a muffin tin, candy mold or cookie cutters with color combos. Bake at 250 degrees until the wax has all melted, about 15–20 minutes. When your new crayons have cooled completely, pop them out of the molds and wrap them up!
