About this issue
Dear Reader:
Our collective ParentMap New Year’s resolution is to keep improving this monthly resource that we bring to your busy life as a parent. The more outstanding information that we can provide, the closer we are to achieving our mission to be your intelligent, trusted and essential local resource. The January issue brings exciting changes to ParentMap, with our new managing editor Kristen Dobson. Her years of journalism experience at KOMO TV will be immediately apparent as you read this issue. Under her watch, we will strengthen our reputation for taking on tough issues, giving voice to great ideas, and bringing parents the finest content around.
Our continued growth shows that we’re tapping into a vibrant and positive trend in parenting. We’re honored to be a part of it.
In 2007, we have more to offer parents and our community than ever before. We’ve expanded our “Giving Together” campaign to include seven worthy organizations. Our “Pathways” lecture series for parents shines with top names, beginning with Dr. John Gottman’s kick-off lecture on February 28th. And we’re pleased to launch two preschool preview nights — one in Puyallup, one in Bellevue — that can bring parents closer to making that important preschool decision.
This issue brings the debut of three unique new features: “Taste,” with recipes and tips from local celebrity chefs; “Watch,” with an eye on Olympia and the courts; and “Media,” with the best in books, music, movies, and games for your family.
We’re also pleased to announce that our award-winning calendar will now be available in Spanish each month at www.parentmap.com.
It’s a privilege to serve this dynamic and growing community. We’d love to hear your thoughts as we launch into the exciting year ahead. Write to editor@parentmap.com and let us know how we’re doing.
A very happy and healthy New Year to you and yours,
