With the kids back in school, it's the perfect time to declutter your home. If you happen to have old car seats you no longer need, don’t miss out on Target’s annual car seat trade-in event. Car seats can be traded in at any Target store from Sunday, Sept. 12 through Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021. Find a Target location near you on the website.

Instead of sending your expired or damaged car seat to a landfill, bring it into a Target store and in exchange, receive a 20-percent-off coupon to put toward a new car seat, stroller or other select baby gear. Coupons can be used online or in-store.

Materials from the old car seats will be recycled by Target’s partner, Waste Management. Since this program launched in 2016, Waste Management reports it has recycled over 22.2 million pounds of plastic.
