Weekend Activities @ the Burke: Mammals

Calendar/Event Details

33278

Every weekend at the Burke, see and even touch objects not normally on display, take part in “Best of the Burke” guided exhibit tours (every Saturday at 1 p.m.), and do hands-on activities with crafts to take home. In November, mammals go on the defensive. Learn about how various species avoid becoming prey, and examine their defense mechanisms with special collections. Plus, animate your own peek-a-boo pangolin to take home or write a short poem about one of Washington's 141 species of mammals.
Themes change monthly, so there's always something new. Upcoming weekend themes (check website for details):

November: Mammals
December: Fish & Shells
January: Archaeology (Artifacts)
February: Reptiles
March: Fossils (Dinos!)
April: Textiles
May: Plants
June: Geology
