Join us for an event packed day specifically for the little gardener of the family. We will be celebrating Spring with live music, food trucks, a planting bar for kids and free ladybugs!
Critter Academy 10-11
Join urban farmer Lisa Taylor in a music and movement filled exploration of the garden. Through music, movement, storytelling and puppetry discover how spiders, bees, ladybugs, butterflies and worms help make our gardens healthy and how we can invite them to live in our yards.
Recess Monkey 12-1pm
Rock out with this local band made up of former and current elementary school teachers.
Vermicomposting for kids 1-2pm
In this hands-on session for kids and parents, we’ll learn from Robin Haglund and look at the “naked eye” creatures that come to life in worm bins. How do worms eat our garbage and what comes out when they’re done munching our scraps. We’ll round out our session chatting about ways to help reduce the waste going into landfills, creating instead, luscious compost to add to our gardens. (Note: allergens may be present in this hands-on session.)
