ParentMap Play Time: How to Play Chess

Kids, have you ever wanted to learn how to play chess? Join ParentMap and Chess4Life for this fun, interactive class. Learn the rules of chess and the most important basic strategies, and discover fun activities you can do at home!

This event is best suited for children ages 7 and older. Younger students are also welcome, ideally with a parent co-attending.

Parents, attend along with your kids to brush up on the rules and get tips on how to continue the learning at home.

Special giveaway

All attendees will be entered for a chance to win a Chess4Life starter kit and an autographed copy of Neff's book, “A Pawn's Journey: Transforming Lives One Move at a Time.”

About the teacher

Elliott Neff is a former Washington State High School Champion, a National Master in chess, author of “A Pawn’s Journey,” and founder and CEO of Chess4Life, which exists to help kids develop life skills through the game of chess. Thousands of kids in the Puget Sound area and beyond are positively impacted through weekly Chess4Life programs.
