Join NPH USA & Mangia DC Food Tours for a virtual cooking class! In celebration of Sustainable Gastronomy Day, join us for our online Caribbean culinary class with a live master chef.
We will be making Picadillo (meaning ‘minced’*) which can be found across the Caribbean, Latin America, Spain and even the Philippines! Mangia DC’s chef will discuss the history of picadillo and the culinary nuances found throughout Latin America. In this workshop you will learn about this dish and its European and African influences. We will also discuss important Latin (Hispanic) family food traditions. The balance of salty and sweet will make you want to serve this recipe at your next family function!
*Vegans, vegetarians, and others with dietary restrictions can substitute tofu, beans, or their favorite protein
