iD.A.Y.dream ANNOUNCES FIRST EVER SPEED MENTORING EVENT FOR TEENS IN SOUTH KING COUNTY
The premier event giving youth a chance to see a brighter future
iD.A.Y.dream a 501c3 non-profit organization - Speed Mentoring Event is designed to create a continuum of support through relationship building, communication, engagement and an experience full of tangible resources. We know that early exposure to higher education using data supported resources and building relationships will play a huge role into setting up our youth for success. By giving youth an opportunity to build rapport and trust, they begin to identify goals and develop a strategy to the life they want to live.
A one-day youth centered event, “Speed Mentoring” is coming to Renton’s own Luther’s Table (419 S. 2nd Avenue, Renton WA 98057), Saturday, May 25th, 2019 – 1:30pm -5:00pm. The event will consist of fixed conversations to quickly sort out prospective future potential mentors, allies and sources of information to help youth make the most of their future by being in this face to face environment and discussing their professional strengths and challenges. Youth will increase their confidence in areas of:
- Communication
- Goal Setting
- Resume Building
- College Readiness
The panel segment will provide an inspirational start to a day focused on empowering youth and mentoring them with skills to reach their full leadership potential. iD.A.Y.dream hosted events creates a safe space for youth to use their voices, empower and support their needs for academic and social emotional growth.
