Zoolights at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium

One of the region's most beloved displays, Zoolights is a spectacular show made up of more than 700,000 LED lights. Tacoma's Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium hosts this show and welcomes families from around the South Sound and beyond. In 2020, Zoolights will go on! Guests can expect favorite scenes such as Mount Rainier, the giant octopus and the twin Tacoma Narrows bridges. The carousel and both aquariums will be closed during Zoolights this year, but outdoor concession and gift kiosks will be open. Masks and timed-entry tickets are required. Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium is also open for regular zoo visits during the day.

Dates: Zoolights opens Nov. 27, 2020, and runs through Jan. 3, 2021. It's open nightly except Thursday and Friday, Dec. 24–25. Hours are  5–9 p.m.

Cost: Tickets cost $11 for ages 3 and older Monday–Thursday, and $14 Friday–Sunday. Kids ages 2 and younger enter free. and $6.50 for zoo members; ages 2 and under free. Zoo members receive a 50-percent discount. Book tickets online. Parking is free.
