On opening day of the Washington State Fair, Sept. 3, KOMO and the local moving company, Apex Moving & Storage, is collecting non-perishable food items at the large food drive, which they will then transport to the local Puyallup Food Bank. All you need to do? Bring a non-perishable food item to the fair, which will be your gate ticket inside the fairgrounds. Donations will be accepted from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Apex Moving & Storage has partnered with the national nonprofit organization, Move For Hunger, which mobilizes companies nationwide to provide transportation efforts and host food drives like this, reducing food waste and supporting critical hunger relief efforts. Since 2015, Apex Moving & Storage has transported over 625,000 lbs. of food—equaling over 520,000 meals—to the Puyallup Food Bank and other local organizations.
