Movin' Around the World: Virtual

Calendar/Event Details

During these times of uncertainty, Northwest Folklife and Seattle Center remain committed to uplifting our community and celebrating the arts and culture of our region while we navigate a world that requires us to remain physically apart. That’s why Movin’ Around the World is going digital!

April 13–17 families are invited to participate in dances, music, and culture from around the world from some of the same artists they would see at Northwest Folklife events, right in your own home! Each day will focus on a new topic as local artists share their arts and culture with us through videos. New videos and activities will be available daily at 11 a.m.

Schedule:

  • Monday, April 13: Flamenco Dancing with Ana Montes
  • Tuesday, April 14: Modern Movement with Moving Minds Dance
  • Wednesday, April 15: Bharatanatyam with Kalalaya Dance
  • Thursday, April 16: Appalachian Flatfooting with Charmaine Slaven
  • Friday, April 17: Brazilian Capoeira with Silvio dos Reis
  • Suggested daily donation: $5–$10 (donate online) though EVERYONE is welcome to participate regardless of ability to donate.

Movin’ Around the World: Virtual is presented by Northwest Folklife and Seattle Center as a part of the year-round program, Our Big Neighborhood.
