Join “Teacher Janelle” for music time! We will do fun lap bounces and finger rhymes, shaker songs and some dances, using a wide variety of classic and original children’s songs.
Janelle will weave child development tips for parents in between the songs. Each week will have a theme, rotating between: Benefits of Music for Early Learning; 4 Keys to Brain Development; Responsive Language and Child-Led Play; and Your Child’s 8 Senses (yes, 8!) Janelle will stay for 15 minutes after each class so you can ask questions about the day’s topic or any question related to child development and parenting. Any age of child is welcome.
Janelle Durham, MSW has worked with new parents for 30 years. She has led parent support groups, taught prenatal classes and parent education. She also teaches music to babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, and STEM classes to kids age 3 to 8. She is currently on the faculty of the Bellevue College Parent Education Program, and also teaches birth classes for the Great Starts program of Parent Trust for Washington Children.
