Join Philharmonia Northwest for the world premiere of “The Goose Egg”, the tale of an elephant mothering a baby goose, with music newly written by Seattle composer Angelique Poteat, based on the book by Seattle children’s book author and illustrator Liz Wong. The story will be narrated by Lisa Bergman, host of King FM. Also on the program is the first African-American composer recognized on the national stage: William Grant Still. His “Dances of Panama” from 1948 incorporate folk melodies of the Caribbean and lively Afro-Latin rhythms. This concert is sure to entertain the whole family!
