15 Magical (and Cheap) Holiday Outings in South Puget Sound

Old Cannery Store

Holiday events at The Old Cannery Furniture Store, Sumner

The Old Cannery Furniture Store, a popular shop in Sumner, really gets into the holiday spirit. While the annual bridge lighting the store used to host is on hiatus, Santa visits and horse-drawn carriage rides continue. Stop by to greet Santa at his arrival on Friday, Nov. 24 at 11 a.m.; he'll stay around until 3:30 p.m. listening to wish lists and posing for photos.

Santa returns Nov. 25–26, Dec. 2–3, 9–10,16–17 and 23, 11 a.m.–4 p.m. Note that wait times to see Santa lengthen the closer to Christmas you go. Special times are set aside for Santa to welcome families of children with sensory needs. Check the store's Facebook page for information and book ahead once appointment slots become available.

The Old Cannery also hosts horse-drawn carriage rides the weekends of Dec. 9–10 and 16–17, 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
