Portland-based Aaron Nigel Smith’s “call to action” is to get kids moving. His high-energy, interactive shows invite the audience to jump, play, sing, and dance through a collection of hip, exuberant songs. In 2002, he founded FUNdamentals of Music and Movement, now the arts program of choice at more than 100 early-education centers nationwide. With highly acclaimed, award-winning CDs (Let’s Pretend, Everyone Loves to Dance, Welcome to the Village) and an influential circle of friends (he’s worked on a children’s CD with Ziggy Marley and as a cast member of PBS’ Between the Lions), Smith practices what he preaches: There will be NO standing still. Presented by Town Hall. Series media sponsorship provided by ParentMap and KEXP. Adults without accompanying children $25.
