The second Saturday of each month is a great day to visit the Museum. Enjoy special hands-on art activities and performances in the Grand Hall from local music or dance group. Plus, you can make your own fused glass tile in the Education Studio.

October 13, 2018: Diorama Drama! – Take a walk through Preston Singletary’s new exhibition, Preston Singletary: Raven and the Box of Daylight and learn about the Tlingit creation story and how Singletary relays this information to gallery visitors. Afterwards, visit art educator Jennifer Adams and design your own shadowbox diorama with clay figurines that showcases an important story or belief.
November 10, 2018: Family Connections – Dive into the Thanksgiving season and contemplate how your family and friends add meaning and enjoyment to your life! Art educator, Jennifer Adams will show you how to create mini effigies of your family out of clothespins and felt! Enjoy music with an Americana flair performed by the Tacoma Banjo Club at 1pm in the Grand Hall!
December 8, 2018: Buzzing into the New Year! – Get ready to say “Good Bye!” to 2018 and think about what you want to do in 2019! Spend some time in Foraging the Hive: Sara Young and Tyler Budgethinking about collaboration and how you can achieve greater things working together with friends and family. Create your own honeycomb themed book to record your 2019 goals with art educator, Jennifer Adams. Students of Paul and Phyllis Twedt will hold their annual Holiday Musicale in the Grand Hall throughout the day!
