My name is Kristin Mueller and I am the owner of Work and Play Therapy. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with extensive experience providing mental health counseling to children, adolescents, and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have been working with individuals and families since 2002. In addition to providing a warm, nurturing and safe environment for clients and their families, I use a variety of techniques and experiential activities in my work in order to effectively address each person's needs and way of learning.
I began teaching the Love and Logic curriculum in 2013 after spending several years researching different parenting curriculums and utilizing several different theories and approaches with the families that I was working with. I chose this curriculum because it focuses on developing a sense of personal responsibility and self-control in each child. Love and Logic teaches children to develop good decision making skills and it also teaches parents how to find a balance between being too permissive and too punitive. Over-all, Love and Logic focuses on nurturing long-term relationships and the development of good character and self-efficacy.
