As part of our Summer Festival, we offer a free outdoor concert at Volunteer Park featuring Festival artists. Come enjoy a beautiful Seattle summer evening with thrilling music and fun activities for the whole family. This popular event is perfect for music lovers of all ages!

These concerts feature some of the greatest chamber music classics in a fun and inviting setting. Pack a picnic dinner, or stop by the food truck and order something right there, stretch out on the lawn at the park, and enjoy some beautiful music.

This summer, you will hear two iconic string octets played by our Summer Festival musicians:
Felix Mendelssohn
String Octet in E-flat Major, Op. 20

Dmitri Shostakovich
Two Pieces for String Octet, Op. 11

At previous Chamber Music in the Park performances, several community partners have offered pre-concert family activities beginning at 5:30pm; partners include KING FM, Seattle Symphony, and Seattle Opera.

Visit our events page for more information, including artist information.

Support for Chamber Music in the Park comes through a generous grant from The Clowes Fund. Additional support in memory of Bill Cobb and Joseph Weigand and by the William and Temple Cobb Charitable Family Fund.
