A new burger joint set to open in Issaquah next week plans to give out free burgers Saturday in a pre-opening sneak peek — make that a sneak taste. The Habit Burger Grill will give out a free chargrilled burger, fries and a drink to the first 200 customers during each of two time slots on Saturday, June 2. The two time slots are 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. and 5:30–7:30 p.m. No purchase is necessary. Just plan to line up early if you want to score a free meal!
If you can't make the free burger time slots Saturday, or don't want to wait in a long line, The Habit is hosting two fundraising events prior to its official opening where the public can get a advance taste of the burgers and accoutrements, and help support community organizations.
- On Sunday, June 3, 5:30–7:30 p.m., stop by The Habit and enjoy a burger while supporting Issaquah students. Regular menu items will be for sale and the restaurant plans to donate 100 percent of proceeds from this pre-opening time slot to the Issaquah Schools Foundation.
- On Tuesday, June 5, 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m., another pre-opening fundraiser will support YMCA Family Village. Visit for lunch and know that your purchase supports this community organization. The Habit will donate 100 percent of proceeds from this time slot to YMCA Family Village.
The Habit specializes in burgers grilled over an open flame, plus ahi tuna steak, portabella mushroom and chicken sandwiches. Sandwiches, salads and other menu items are made-to-order.
Starting with its official grand opening on Wednesday, June 6, The Habit will be open daily, 10:30 a.m.–10 p.m. Find it at 1676 9th Ave. N.E. in Issquah's Grand Ridge Plaza.
The Habit's Issaquah location will be the franchise's sixth location in Washington, joining outlets in Shoreline, Tukwila, Kent, Tacoma and Silverdale. The chain started in California in 1969.
