Make sure to mark your calendar for the Sheraton Grand Seattle’s annual Gingerbread Village. This iconic event is in support of the Northwest Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). The Gingerbread Village is a free event, geared towards families and attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from out of city and state. Last year’s Gingerbread Village, 25 years of Cheer: A Celebration of Seattle, drew more than 200,000 people, and the event has raised nearly $1 million for JDRF’s cause.
The architects and Chefs utilize hundreds of pounds of gingerbread, icing, almond paste and colorful candy to build its Gingerbread Village, a life-size collection of gingerbread structures. Join the Sheraton Seattle Hotel for this elaborate event from November 20 through January 1! This year’s theme adapts the classic children’s holiday story in Dr. Seuss’ Whoville, bringing together families from all over for this exquisite sight during the Christmas season.
