Bring the kids! The Seattle Festival Orchestra’s family concerts are special family friendly presentations that are geared to maximize the enjoyment of younger audience members while providing a fulfilling musical program for the whole family. Kid noises and dancing are welcome. SFO’s family-friendly concerts are shorter in duration to keep things fun for everyone.
This year’s fall concert showcases two talented young musicians; composer Pradhyumn Pradeep and his work Phoenicia, which depicts all the experiences and nostalgia associated with a hometown, whether pleasant or not; and twenty year old violinist Marley Erickson from Whidbey Island. Erickson will play the Brahms Violin Concerto. Completing the concert program is Alexander Borodin’s Symphony No. 2 with its dramatic opening motif and passionate embrace of slavic folk sources.
Seattle Festival Orchestra is an all-volunteer community orchestra that presents concerts to delight and engage a 21st century audience. With diverse programming, SFO creates space for its audience to experience catharsis in the wide range of emotions available in orchestra music, to feel with our musicians the joy, sorrow, wonder and ecstasy of our art.
