Discover all four light art pieces in the South Lake Union neighborhood. Installations will be open to the public daily, beginning November 22nd through December 31st, from 8AM to 10 PM. Guests are encouraged to interact with each piece to discover how their movement changes the lights and sounds of the installation.
Passage : Located @ Van Vorst Plaza (426 Terry Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109)
Make your way through an open tunnel of light and sound in Passage. This immersive and interactive installation consists of 20 circles of light that form a tunnel that you can walk through. Bob up and down on six see-saws that are illuminated by LED lights and augmented by speakers. This display will transform public space into an activated light and sound experience. Prismatica : Located @ Nitro Plaza (2250 7th Ave., Seattle, WA 98109)
Wander around a modern-day ice palace made up of 25 6-foot tall pivoting prisms. Each prism is made of panels covered with a dichroic film that reflects colors that vary with light source and perspective. Each prism is mounted on a base containing a projector that gives the installation a new dimension after nightfall. Plus, the prisms trigger variable-intensity bell music as they rotate. Movement makes magic in this unique installation. Giant crystals come alive and play different sounds depending on how close you get to them. Moving and dancing around this display will create different sounds and will refract light and reflect colors in a variety of ways depending on angle and position. Created by The Urban Conga.
