This will be a varied and fun race in day and possibly some night conditions near the end. There will be Canoeing, Biking, and Trekking disciplines. The biking will be on streets or hard packed dirt trails. You should be able to use a road or cross bike. The Trekking in this race will be quite short to make room for the canoeing. Due to 520 construction, some areas of the Arboretum are inaccessible.
You will start with Canoeing at the University of Washington Waterfront Activities Center (WAC) where you will rent your own canoe and gear from them before the race. Check here for details on prices and payment methods (you will need to pay the WAC directly when you rent your canoe, plan on a 1 hour rental at $12/hr - credit/debit only). Canoes can hold 1-3 people, so if you have a 4 person team, plan on renting 2 canoes. If you're solo, you can pair up with another solo or team.
Due to the Canoeing logistics, this race has a flexible start at 5:30pm (it should still end very close to 10:00pm).
There will be post-race hot soups and food to get you replenished.
For this race, Sunset is at 9:04pm and Twilight Ends at 9:44pm.
