Harry Todd Park
8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
The Youth Fishing Event happens yearly in Lakewood at one of our two parks with shoreline access to American Lake. We host the event in collaboration with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. A netted area near the beach is stocked with fish from our local hatcheries. Each kid is given their own pole to keep and enjoys a 60-minute teaching session. Additionally, bait and bags for caught fish are provided.
We have held this event at American Lake Park and Harry Todd Park. The 2025 event will be at Harry Todd Park due to the closure of American Lake Park while major improvements are made.
Only children and youth may fish. Adults may only assist.
Session times:
- Session 1: 8 a.m.
- Session 2: 9 a.m.
- Session 3: 10 a.m.
- Session 4: 11 a.m.
