Winner: PEPS — Program for Early Parent Support

Becoming a parent is one of the most challenging transitions in life. What new parents often want the most is social support; we all need our peeps, right? That’s where nonprofit PEPS — Program for Early Parent Support — comes in, helping parents of infants and young children to build communities that empower them to meet the challenges of parenting through mutual support and the sharing of information.

Nonprofit Lake Washington Toddler Group in Kirkland welcomes children ages 5 months–4 years and offers classes for parents and siblings to promote strong, healthy families. Parents who join become students in parenting education classes and can even earn college credit.

Started more than 50 years ago, North Seattle Cooperative Preschools provide a warm, nurturing environment for children to explore and learn about community life at 11 convenient North Seattle locations. Moms and dads build friendships and benefit from parent education opportunities offered inside and outside the classroom.

With five locations in West Seattle and White Center, South Seattle College Cooperative Preschools provide high-quality early childhood education, along with parent education, coaching and support.

The goal of the Woodinville Toddler Group is to build a community of support among parents and provide an engaging environment in which toddlers can play and create with their peers. One appreciative voter notes, “It’s a very supportive and nonjudgmental group.”
