Supportive Birth or Postpartum Service

Winner: Swedish Medical Center

More babies are born at Swedish Medical Center than any other healthcare system in western Washington, with several campuses and clinics. In addition to expert delivery, maternity and postpartum care, Swedish offers a wide variety of classes, including a “Welcome Baby” package covering all the basics about pregnancy and newborns. Swedish cares for both normal and high-risk pregnancies and births.

Finalists

Working with women through pregnancy and beyond, Edmonds’ Body Motion Physical Therapy is a winner according to ParentMap readers. Voters say physical therapist Dr. Feldt is knowledgeable, compassionate and friendly. “Dr. Allison is the best! I am 6 months pregnant, and she is preparing my body for the best labor and delivery. I am so grateful for her!”

You can find maternity care, breastfeeding services, postpartum care and childbirth classes all at EvergreenHealth in Kirkland. “They saved me with their breastfeeding center,” says one voter. “Had both my boys there — highly recommend it,” says another.

Michelle of Exhale: Body & Birth is a PALS-certified birth and postpartum doula with a commitment to health activism and reproductive justice. Exhale: Body & Birth always strives to provide culturally competent care and an inclusive environment for everyone.

A nonprofit organized to support the doula community, PALS (Pacific Association of Labor Support) Doulas can help you find the perfect match in a doula. It maintains a list of PALS-certified doulas, so you can have the birth experience you’ve hoped for.
