Attention, Seattle-area Lego fanatics! Find inspiration for your most awesome creations at our local Lego convention, BrickCon 2022. BrickCon is back in person and taking place Saturday–Sunday, Oct. 1–2, 2022.
BrickCon is a Lego expo catering to Lego enthusiasts of all ages, featuring eye-popping Lego displays by master builders.
Two decades of bricks
Billed as the longest-running fan-based Lego convention, BrickCon is a Lego lovefest where master builders and hobbyists show off their creations. Exhibitors and visitors exchange ideas and make friends with other Lego fans. This year marks BrickCon’s 21st year, and the theme is "21, Time for Fun."
Past BrickCons have featured astonishing builds, including detailed battle scenes that range from medieval to intergalactic, elaborate cityscapes, and even creations with moveable parts.
Harmony Scofield, of Portland, Oregon, shared a Twitter photo of her kids being mesmerized by a Lego R2D2 at a BrickCon event several years ago. Scofield says her children, then ages 7 and 4, enjoyed the event, but that she cautioned other families to remember this: Crowds can form around displays and that makes it harder for kids to see them.
The event is probably best suited for elementary-age and older kids, particularly those who have a strong interest in Lego.
Details for 2022
There will not be a hands-on Lego building zone as in years past, due to safety concerns related to the ongoing pandemic. Families should note that this means BrickCon will be almost entirely an event for looking and shopping, rather than touching or building.
Tickets will be sold online only, and there will be no physical ticket booth at BrickCon. You must purchase tickets for a specific date and time, and may only attend during that time. General admission tickets are $16; kids age 4 and younger enter for free. Strollers are not allowed inside the venue.
Attendees are not required to wear a mask, but doing so is strongly recommended.
