Mingle with the locals in central Reykjavík

Something as simple as a stroll around town can uncover little treasures the city has to offer. Reykjavík is filled with public art and sculptures, great eateries and parks for kids to play in. Head to the lake just up from old town or to the waterfront to see waterfowl and enjoy a picnic, while people-watching. Walk along the docks to see all of the fishing and tour boats coming and going. Pop into the National Museum of Iceland to learn about the heritage and the incredible history of the country, or do some shopping for Icelandic wool products in one of the many shops along the main street through town.

Best time to enjoy: year round
