Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to run and walk across the new SR 520 Floating Bridge before it opens to traffic!
From I-5 in Seattle to I-405 in Bellevue, the SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program is improving traffic safety and mobility along this key urban highway corridor. At its center is the new floating bridge. The new span not only will be able to withstand stronger windstorms, but also will have transit/HOV lanes, a cross-lake bicycle/pedestrian path and shoulders for disabled vehicles.
On Saturday, April 2, the celebration kicks off with a fun run/walk across the bridge presented by the Virginia Mason Heart Institute. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime chance to run across the bridge!
The 10 Kilometer run & walk will begin at 7:30AM from Montlake Boulevard and run across the world’s longest floating bridge before turning around and heading back to the finish.
This historic run and walk kicks of a weekend of Grand Opening ceremonies on the floating bridge. For a detailed list of the other activities including the ribbon cutting celebration, please see the main GO LONG website here www.520golong.com.
