Art and Social Justice Tours

Calendar/Event Details

SAM honors Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a week of spotlight tours, focused on works that speak to themes of race and social justice. SAM staff, board members, volunteers, and community partners will facilitate conversations and offer personal responses based on artists and artworks currently on view in SAM’s galleries. Tours will be held daily January 15–20.

This tour will be led by Gerard Philpotts, SAM Human Resources staff. Gerard brings a wealth training and experience in fields ranging from healthcare to higher education and roles ranging from data analyst to ombudsman. He has a Master of Public Administration degree from Seattle University, a Certificate in Human Resource Management from the University of Washington, and he is a Senior Certified Professional through the Society for Human Resource Management. Gerard’s personal passion for the arts makes him a great member of the HR team at SAM.

Free and open to the public.
