About the speaker

Yaffa Maritz is a co-founder of Listening Mothers and clinical director of both Listening Mothers™ and Reflective parenting, two research-based parenting programs. She is founder and director of the Community of Mindful Parenting.

Yaffa was born and trained in Israel as a clinical social worker. She is also a licensed mental health counselor with advanced training in infant mental health. She is a licensed Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) facilitator and certified Mindful Meditation Teacher. She is an advocate for the well-being of children and their families and serves on several local and national boards that promote this agenda, including the Governor’s Commission for Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention.

Yaffa believes that by supporting parents and creating nurturing communities for them, we can set the foundation for the positive growth of children’s social, emotional, and mental health.

Dr. Kelly Moore, PhD, LICSW, has dedicated over 35 years to adolescent and family mental health. Serving as the Director of Counseling and Learning Support at an independent school in the Seattle area, she spearheaded the creation of social-emotional curricula for grades 5-12, established a robust parent education program, and developed a well-being curriculum for faculty and staff. Driven by a steadfast mission to combat the alarming rise of depression, anxiety, and suicide among youth she witnessed throughout her career, she founded Accompanied for Caregivers. Accompanied for Caregivers is a science-based social-emotional curriculum for parents and guardians. Dr. Moore is committed to her work with parents -- seeing firsthand that boosting the well-being of parents and caretakers is the most effective way to stem the tide of despair plaguing our kids. Kelly is the mom of two adult children and a French bulldog named Posey (who has NEVER rolled her eyes at her). After living in Seattle for over 25 years, she now lives with her husband, Gary, in beautiful Bend, Oregon where she enjoys skiing, golfing, hiking and working really hard at growing vegetables in the rugged climate of central Oregon.
