Giveaway: 'The Paint Book' and 'The Pencil Book' by Miri Flower

Win both books by signing up for our enews!

Searching for new art and craft ideas to get your kids through the dark days of fall and winter, especially winter break? Today's giveaway should be a big help. We're giving away two books that are chock full of creative, easy-to-execute projects that kids will love: The Paint Book and The Pencil Book by Miri Flower. Two lucky winners will win both books by signing up for ParentMap's enewsletters!

Both books are excellent tools for cultivating creativity and creating art, in a beautifully designed format: Each book contains 70 ideas, with one clearly explained idea per page spread, including photos that show the various stages of a project.

Almost all of the projects in the The Paint Book are appropriate for young kids, even toddlers. The projects range from wondeful classics such as coffee-filter butterflies, painting with your hands and feet and painting with marbles to making nightlights and aging paper with teabags (ahoy, treasure maps ahead!).

The Pencil Book is full of inventive ideas for things to make and do with a pencil, from writing hidden messages to making mirror pictures to  coloring in family photos (excellent holiday gift). Map making, portrait drawing and mini movie making (!) are also covered. Projects range from very simple to more complex crafts older kids will enjoy.
