My schools didn't ban anything, to my knowledge (although I would have appreciated a moratorium on "boys chase girls" when I was a fourth-grader). We played Dodgeball -- a hit to the face? no problem! -- we played tag, we collected and traded the objects of the moment, the girls hated on the boys and the boys hated on the girls, and we had exclusionary friendships.
From HuffPo, a list of things (some micromanagingly bizarre, others almost understandable) that schools around the world have banned. What do you think? School administrators run amock or a sensible reaction to classroom disruption?
