Get your family and friends and run/walk a glowing Point Defiance Five Mile Drive in the dark. Wear your flashiest costume and bling while you enjoy glow sticks, zoo lights characters, strobe lights, and more along the lighted roadway.
The fun begins in the zoo parking lot which will be lit with festive lights and pumped up with music from a live DJ for pre and post-race celebrating.

- Race starts at 7pm, which means you run in the dark!
- Costume contest with prizes
- Non-competitors/walkers welcome
- Parking and start/finish will be in the Zoo parking lot
- Free refillable water bottle to all participants.
Kids Dash: race around the Zoo.This is a shorter course designed especially for participants under 10 years old. It begins after the 5- and 2.5-mile runners have started and goes around the outside perimeter of the zoo and its parking lot. Kids are supervised at all times during this shorter event so parents are able to run one of the longer courses.
Costume Contest: Costumes are encouraged—especially glowing, reflective or lighted costumes. The costume contest begins at 6:15 pm. Contest winners are chosen by the crowd scream-o-meter and receive great prizes!
