See History in the Making: The Shenandoah Restoration Project

/eventImages/29209/shenandoah.jpeg

The historic wooden fishing vessel Shenandoah is on display in the Jim and Carolyn Milgard Maritime Gallery at the Harbor History Museum. The museum was voted Best Family Friendly Activity by South Sound Magazine in 2011. The Shenandoah is being restored onsite every Friday and Saturday from 10am-1pm by shipwright Nate Slater and community volunteers. Restoration will be a public process and Museum visitors will have the opportunity to interact directly with the restoration crew as they work on the vessel to learn more about classic wooden boat-building techniques. The Maritime Gallery contains several interactive information stations and is open to the public during regular open hours.

Friday, Saturday 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
