Calendar/Event Details

29414

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Washington State History Museum is offering free admission to all on Monday, January 18.

At 2pm, artists from Onyx Fine Art Collective will lead a hands-on family program discussing selected works from their exhibit “A Decade of Art,” currently on display in the WSHM Community Gallery. As part of the program, visitors will be encouraged to create their own artwork inspired by the artists’ presentations, themes, and styles.

Following the program by Onyx, join us at 3:30pm in the museum auditorium for “Get on the Bus,” a play merging the stories of generations of civil rights activists—from the Freedom Riders of the 1960s to the DREAM activists of today—produced by the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts.
