MOUNTAIN MELODIES 2023 CONCERT SERIES EVENTS
Singing, dancing and alpine air! This series features performances by great musicians and dancers amid the majestic mountain lake views. Come join the fun this summer at  Lake Wenatchee State Park!

JULY
RADOST FOLK ENSEMBLE & DUNAVA 
July 15

Join members of Radost Folk Ensemble and Dunava for the music, dance, and song traditions of Eastern Europe and the Balkans.

Radost Folk Ensemble has presented the music, dance, and costume traditions of Eastern Europe throughout the Pacific Northwest since 1976. The Radost repertoire includes traditions of Croatia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia, Ukraine and Russia, with ornate costumes and live music on traditional instruments.

Dunava is a Seattle-based women's vocal ensemble specializing in the a cappella folk music of Eastern Europe. Founded in 2005, the group is made up of singers from diverse musical backgrounds who share a passion for complex and beautiful harmonies. The choir's repertoire includes songs from the Balkans as well as other Slavic countries and the Caucasus.

AUGUST
LEIKARRINGEN
Aug. 12

Leikarringen has been performing traditional Norwegian dances for over 60 years. Their repertoire includes: song dances (sangdanser), figure dances (turdanser), village dances (bygdedanser), and old time dances (gammeldanser). They perform throughout the year at various community events including Norwegian Constitution Day (known as Syttende Mai) in Ballard, Viking Fest in Poulsbo, NW Folklife at the Seattle Center, Skandia Folkdance Society's Midsommarfest at Saint Edward State Park, Nordic Fest on Whidbey Island, ScanFair in Portland, as well as events at the National Nordic Museum.  

MOUNT VERNON MARIACHI & FOLKLORICO
Aug. 26

Mount Vernon Mariachi & Folklórico is the largest Mariachi Program on the west side of the state with over 120 students. Mount Vernon High School Mariachi & Folklórico’s mission is to pass down Mexico’s rich traditions of dance and music to youth. This vibrant cultural heritage lives on in the community through MV performances.
