Sensational Sports Camp or Program

Winner: SANCA — School of Acrobatics & New Circus Arts

Our voters want readers to know big-top fun is close at hand at SANCA — School of Acrobatics & New Circus Arts, located in South Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood. Kids of all ages (including adults) learn that seemingly impossible tasks are possible with practice. One voter sums up SANCA by saying, “Circus stretches both the mind and body, letting kids be both creative and physical, supported by great coaches in small classes.” Class options include Baby & Me, Family Circus and Handstand Jam, as well as a range of offerings for flying trapeze, youth trampoline, tumbling, unicycling and more.

Finalists

Kidz Love Soccer is a program for kids ages 2–12 that’s focused on fun. Parents rave about the age-appropriate classes that are taught in several locations throughout the Greater Seattle area. “Soccer for fun — who knew??!! Soccer as it should be for the younger set,” writes one voter.

Lil’ Kickers coaches have been teaching soccer to Seattle-area kids since 1999. What started as a family business is now a national franchise operation, with five locations in the Greater Seattle area (and more than 100 locations nationwide). Readers tell us their kids love these high-energy classes taught by kind and fun instructors.

There’s a class for everyone at The Little Gym, which serves kids from 4 months to 12 years old at multiple locations in the Greater Seattle area. Classes are noncompetitive and interactive, and choices include karate, Kindermusik, sports skills, gymnastics, dance and parent-and-child classes for the very young.

Seattle Gymnastics Academy aims to help young gymnasts gain skills and confidence while having fun at its three Seattle-area gyms. Parents are glad for this program’s wide range of classes for kids at every experience level, whether they’ve never done a cartwheel or want to compete in meets.
