Eat sweet treats

There is nothing like a cake to put the icing on an important day. Macrina Bakery has delicious whole cakes that can be ordered with two days notice. Choose from Tuxedo Cake, Carrot Cake or Mom’s Chocolate Cake, or dig into a rustic tart or pie.

If cupcakes and slices are more your style, check out Deep Sea Sugar & Salt, which offers a rotating selection of slices and cupcakes at their walk-up window. Whole cakes and special orders require seven days' advance notice. Choose from unique flavors such as Chai Apple Cardamom, Molasses Stout, 9-lb. Porter Chocolate and more.

For something really decadent, go to Hot Cakes for individual molten cakes, cookie ice cream sandwiches and more. They even carry natural wine by the bottle and organic beer. Both locations in Capitol Hill and Ballard have limited delivery or takeout options.
