5. Gather for turkey on an off day
Our extended family has always gathered on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This means no one has to travel on those insane days like the Wednesday before, or take extra days off work. It also means most of America is buying their Christmas trees on that day; this charming Christmas tree stand is across the street from my mom’s cousin’s house, where we meet for the big turkey dinner.
