On the second Thursday of each month, Don’t Tell Mom, a meetup for dads, those who identify as dads, single parents playing both roles, and their kids, will hold an inaugural event at Fat’s Chicken & Waffles in Seattle’s Central District. The family-focused events will give mom a break while providing an opportunity for dads to get together and their kids a chance to hang out with other kids. Fat’s is located at 2726 E Cherry Street. The Don’t Tell Mom event at Fat’s will have a $5 kid’s menu available (Mac and cheese, Chicken strips and fries, waffle), along with coloring activities. Dads can savor one of Fat’s many dishes including signature waffles, salads, red beans and rice, a seafood sampler (catfish, oysters, and shrimp) or the hearty Fat’s Sampler (Cheese grits and buttermilk biscuit with fried chicken and two sides).
