Join us for a hands-on family workshop inspired by the traditions of the Dragon Boat Festival!
We’re teaming up with The Center for Wooden Boats to bring this exciting experience to life at Seattle Children’s Museum. Together, we’ll explore the ancient Southern Chinese sport of dragon boat racing through stories, hands-on discovery, and boat-building fun.
We’ll kick things off with a themed story time, then dive into an interactive tour of Chinese sailing and boating equipment—guided by our amazing friends from The Center for Wooden Boats. After that, it’s time to roll up our sleeves and build! We’ll use real tools to hammer, drill, and assemble our very own wooden boats to take home.
This workshop is perfect for families with kids ages 3 and up. We’ll provide all the materials—just bring your curiosity and creativity!
